Hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go!

Kung hei fat choi! Sun nien fai lok!
Gong xi fa cai! Xin nian kuai le!
Happy Chinese New Year! Wishing everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous year of the tiger!

Our holiday is officially over! Tomorrow is an exciting day for the Mings Down Under as Row starts work tomorrow and we're finally moving into our apartment. Our container was released from quarantine on Friday and is being delivered tomorrow. We've spent the whole weekend slowly moving our things over to the new apartment and also helping BG move into his new apartment. We can't wait to finally be in our new apartment and to unpack our suitcases and finally put those into storage. I'm going to have my own bed and my own pillow and my own towel and my own pots and plates and cutlery....ah, the small things! Can't wait!

However, a new apartment also means no internet access for a while.....eeeekkkk,what am I going to do? Hmmm, at least I won't be distracted from cleaning and packing and sorting out all our stuff.

It's good bye for now! Have a good week ya'll.

Nearly 9 months old

Our little baby is going to be 9 months old on Saturday. I took him to the doctor for a long overdue check up and all is good. Justin weighs 8.5kgs and is 76cm long, not sure where he gets his height from. Justin loves to pull himself up and is starting to coast along the furniture. He's crawling very quickly now and is finally crawling properly as opposed to his leopard-crawl. We thought his top teeth were beginning to cut but still no sign of those teeth popping out even though he's drooling non-stop. One of Justin's favourite activity is to stand by the window and pull the blinds up and over his head so that he can look out the window.

I can't believe how quickly the last 9 months have gone. Being a parent is one steep learning curve but I guess it's a good sign that Row, Justin and I are all in one piece. Looking forward to the next few months leading up to Justin's 1st birthday and more milestones.

Yum-Yum

We're laying down roots!

It's official...we have a home! We finally managed to find an apartment in an area called Kensington which is about a 5 minute drive from where we currently stay and it'll be about a 2 minute drive from BG. It's a small apartment, although bigger than what we had in HK, but it'll do for now. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen that can fit more than 2 people at the same time, an area for a 6-seater dining table and a lounge. We signed the lease and received the keys on Wednesday, now we're just waiting for our container to be released from quarantine and then we can move into our new home. In the mean time, we've been buying small appliances such as a kettle, a toaster, a vacuum cleaner and an iron...very exciting stuff when you can buy good quality products knowing that they will have to last a long time because this is home now. Our next big purchases will be a fridge and a washing machine; we weren't aware that even as renters you have to buy these appliances. So for now, our couch and dining table and chairs will have to wait. The only person who will be able to eat meals comfortably and in a civilised manner will be Justin! But who cares....we have a home!!!!! And we're looking forward to furnishing it and making it our home!
